My "Go-To" Smokey Eye

I really love to be creative with my looks. I love to experiment with colors but when it comes to work, I have to keep it simple.  Not saying that I don’t wear colors to work, because I do. I just limit the tone of brightness and such.  Any who, with that being said, this is my go to look for work.  It’s pretty simple if you ask me.  At least to me it is anyway.  So lets get started…

STEP ONE

First I had to prep the eye by applying a primer.  I used E.L.F.’s eye primer for my lids.  After applying the primer, I applied Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in “Too Cool” using the Sigma Precision Tapered-P86.  I really love these for bases.  I do believe that they can be warn as a color by them selves, but that’s a whole other post.  Shall we continue?

STEP TWO

I like to take one of my favorite brushes from none other than Sigma to highlight the brow.  It’s the Sigma Large Fluff Brush-E50 and I used it with E.L.F’s “Beauty Queen” eyeshadow. I absolutely love this brush for highlighting the brow.  What brush do you use for highlighting your brow?

STEP THREE

Using the Sigma Eye Shading-E55 brush, I go in with a soft pink color.  This is the E.L.F’s eye shadow in “First Date”.  It’s a really pretty champagne color with a pink undertone. I definitely need to invest in a new camera that will show the true colors of the shadows as well as the looks.  So before I start rambling, lets continue on.

STEP FOUR

I will then go in with my Sigma Tapered Blending brush and dust a brown into the crease.  I’m using E.L.F.’s eyeshadow in “Coffee Bean”.  I love using browns or neutrals for that matter.  I feel like it really brings out my eyes as well as looks great with my skin tone.

STEP FIVE

For this part, I like to use the M.A.C. Tapered Blending-224(SE).  It has a pointier tip at the end of the brush than my others.  I dip it into a matte black to define the outer crease area.  The black that I’m using here is from my Wet-N-Wild pallet “I Love Matte”.  I love this pallet!  I find myself using it a lot lately. See there I go talking about the Wet-N-Wild pallet when I’m suppose to doing a “blogturial”

STEP SIX

Pick a black liner of your choice to line the upper eyes as well as the lower lash line. Also while your at it you can line your waterline.  It’s not shown in the pic, but I took the matte black and placed it over the bottom lash line to set the liner.

STEP SEVEN

To finish off the look, I use this L’OREAL duo bronzer/blush with my E.L.F. Complextion Brush, mascara of choice and then for the lips, I lined them and filled them in with E.L.F.’s lip liner in “Rose”, placed E.L.F.’s Mineral Tinted Moisturizer in “Guava” on top and then used E.L.F’s Shimmer Gloss in “Victoria”.
